Your Diet May Determine The Sex Of Your Baby

If you’re pregnant and you’re eating cereal with bananas for breakfast…

Congratulations! It’s a…

Boy!

Or so suggests the latest research from the University of Exeter in Britain.

The study consisted of about 700 first-time pregnant women in the U.K. who didn’t know the sex of their babies.

The researchers asked the women about their eating habits in the year before they got pregnant.

Women who had at least one bowl of cereal daily were about 87% more likely to have boys than the women who ate one bowl per week or less.

The women who had boys also ate an average of 300 milligrams more of potassium daily than women who had girls. Bananas are filled with potassium.

So it stands to reason that if you eat a lot of cereal with bananas, you may increase your chances of having a boy.

Women who had boys also ate an average of 400 calories more per day than women who had girls.

These results are similar to those from some animal research.

But the scientists still aren’t sure if diet directly affects a baby’s gender. Or if it works in conjunction with other factors. Or if it has no impact at all.

But this study suggests there’s more truth to the saying, “You are what you eat,” than we realize. Or maybe you are what you’re mother eats.
