Again, for those of you who have I Love to Cheat, you already know what to do on Thanksgiving.
There were many wonderful Thanksgiving desserts to choose from. But I narrowed it down to five.

And I bet the smell of it baking in the oven is heavenly.

This recipe has less sugar than most, so you can enjoy the taste of the pecans. And it’s super easy to make.
Be sure to read the comments in Elise’s post for other variations on how to make this.

Are you purposely trying to make us fat? I’m getting frustrated here.

Hi Laurie,
I wouldn’t purposely try to make anyone fat. But you have to realize you’re reading the I Love To Cheat Diet blog. I don’t do carrot and celery sticks here.
Having said that, though, I encourage everyone to follow the weight loss plan that works for them (as long as it’s healthy). If you don’t want to eat sweets or any of the recipes I’ve listed for Thanksgiving, don’t. It’s that simple.
This is just an alternative for people who follow my diet or can work these recipes into their own diets. I think a lot of people suspend dieting on Thanksgiving anyway.
In my opinion, most dieters could eat one regular serving of turkey, stuffing, vegetables, potatoes and dessert on Thanksgiving and not see a tremendous difference in their weight. Where most people get tripped up is eating too many servings or gargantuan servings to the point that they feel uncomfortable or even sick from too much food.
I hope you have a good Thanksgiving, Laurie, no matter what you choose to eat.

I’ve always shied away from pecan pie because it tastes so sugary. But I might try this recipe because the rest of my family loves pecan pie and this one might be good even for me.

Oh Rhett, I do declare, I’ll have some sweet potato pie!
I didn’t know anybody still ate like that. It sounds good, though.
