Emotional Eaters More Likely To Regain Weight

Dieters who eat because of external food triggers like holiday celebrations have fewer weight loss problems than dieters who eat because of internal or emotional triggers like sadness or loneliness.

According to a study by The Miriam Hospital’s Weight Control & Diabetes Research Center, even people who have successfully lost weight are at risk if they are emotional eaters.

Emotional eaters are more likely to have trouble losing weight and more likely to regain weight after they reach their weight loss goals.

This research shows that weight loss isn’t just about the type of diet you go on, but also the reasons why you eat in the first place.

The scientists recommend that dieters learn different ways to cope with the emotions or thoughts that cause them to overeat.

This is especially important because one of the greatest problems for dieters is the likelihood of regaining weight after reaching goal.

Statistics show the majority of successful dieters regain all of their weight within 3 to 5 years.

For a lot of people, the holidays can be a stressful, even lonely time of year.

Maybe it’s these emotions, even more than all the holiday celebrations, that cause so much weight gain this time of year.
