Diet Book Author Goes On Diet
I’ve been thinking of writing a press release with that title.
After all, the irony of gaining weight right as I start to sell a diet book is just too “delicious” to ignore.
Okay, enough with the puns already.
As those of you who read my post, “Is Blogging Bad For Your Weight,” know, I gained 9 pounds after starting this blog. I think it only took about 2 weeks.
In that post, I explain what I think happened, so I won’t repeat it here. But I also promised I would go on my own diet, I Love to Cheat, to get rid of the extra weight.
I know it’s not a lot of weight. And my latest challenge is nothing to what some of you are facing.
But I think you always need a plan to fall back on… even after you reach your goal. You never know if you’ll start to regain the weight.
I think it’s best to lose it while it’s still manageable. In fact, I should’ve never let it get to 9 pounds. I should’ve stopped it at 2 or 3.
Yesterday marked the end of the first week of my diet. Here are the results so far:
I’ve lost 2 pounds this week. 7 to go.
So far, so good.
But the first week is always the easiest, isn’t it? I’ll keep you posted.

Congratulations. Did you really lose those 2 pounds with no hunger and no exercise? What did you do?

Down 2 pounds myself this week. Must be a good week for weight loss.

As long as we’re sharing, I’m down 1 pound, too.

Hi everyone. Congratulations to everyone who lost weight this week. Let’s all try for another good week coming up.
Mary, I did lose the weight without hunger and no additional exercise. I don’t have time for it. (No lectures, please, about how I should make time.) Life just doesn’t allow for it at the moment.
I’d like to clarify the hunger issue. Occasionally, as the time came for lunch or dinner, I’d feel a little hunger, nothing too terrible. But that’s normal. And it didn’t always happen.
But I NEVER go to bed hungry. I never wake up with hunger gnawing at my belly. I’m being completely honest in saying it doesn’t happen to me, it shouldn’t happen if you eat enough, and you still can lose weight.
We’ve all been conditioned to think we have to suffer with weight loss. It really doesn’t have to be as hard as you may think.
As to what I did, I think I outlined it in the first post, “Is Blogging Bad For Your Weight?” 1500 calories a day for my gender/weight/activity level and no additional exercise, just my normal life.
Yes, I do have some tips to help in I Love to Cheat, but you can’t expect me to give away everything on this blog, can you?

Congrats on the loss! I love the fact that you associated blogging with a lot less weight loss! I had that same theory back when I first started blogging and had to kick my own ass out of it!
