Wednesday Weigh-In #3

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

Another Wednesday weigh-in on Thursday.

I’m not sure this one has much meaning. I spent the last 2 days either in the ER or shuttling between hospital, home, and one other location. So I had a long period of time where I didn’t eat anything.

As far as I can tell, there was no gain or loss this week. I wasn’t able to get weighed first thing in the morning, though, because we took off for the ER at 1AM.

There’s no need to add comments to this post. Nothing really happened.

In other news, I’ve found a great recipe site for people who like to cook. I hope to get some of those delicious recipes posted on Monday.

Wednesday Weigh-In #2

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

Yeah, I know it’s Thursday. But I weighed in on Wednesday. I just forgot to post it.

I’ll make this quick because I put up a long post yesterday.

This week, I lost another pound. Six to go.

I’m getting close to my target weight again. I hope the weight continues to come off steadily. But from here, there may be weeks where I don’t show a weight loss. We’ll have to see.

Later today, I plan to make another post with tips to get back on track if your weight loss has stalled. Too many people are working too hard.

If you’re interested, check back.

Diet Book Author Goes On Diet

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

I’ve been thinking of writing a press release with that title.

After all, the irony of gaining weight right as I start to sell a diet book is just too “delicious” to ignore.

Okay, enough with the puns already.

As those of you who read my post, “Is Blogging Bad For Your Weight,” know, I gained 9 pounds after starting this blog. I think it only took about 2 weeks.

In that post, I explain what I think happened, so I won’t repeat it here. But I also promised I would go on my own diet, I Love to Cheat, to get rid of the extra weight.

I know it’s not a lot of weight. And my latest challenge is nothing to what some of you are facing.

But I think you always need a plan to fall back on… even after you reach your goal. You never know if you’ll start to regain the weight.

I think it’s best to lose it while it’s still manageable. In fact, I should’ve never let it get to 9 pounds. I should’ve stopped it at 2 or 3.

Yesterday marked the end of the first week of my diet. Here are the results so far:

I’ve lost 2 pounds this week. 7 to go.

So far, so good.

But the first week is always the easiest, isn’t it? I’ll keep you posted.

Losing Weight: What Do You Owe To Other People?

Friday, February 9th, 2007

One of my favorite bloggers, Melodee Helms, posted yesterday her “Official Thursday Weigh-In.” She seems to be stuck at 173 pounds, at least for the moment.

I think what impressed me most about this amazing woman was that she didn’t whine about not losing any more weight. She didn’t make excuses.

No, she was worried about what other people might think of her.

Specifically, she worried that her loyal blog readers might be disappointed in her, might not like her any longer.

Is Blogging Bad For Your Weight?

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

True confessions time.

Since I started this blog, I’ve gained 9 pounds. I think it’s only been 2 weeks.

I’m absolutely astounded. I know I’ve been eating more.

I always do that when I don’t get enough sleep. And I’ve been going to bed around 3 or 4AM and getting up by 6 or 7AM for weeks now.

When I’m sleep-deprived, I tend to reach for food to try to stay awake.

But I haven’t needed to lose weight for years. This is truly surprising that when I start to sell a diet book, I gain weight. What does that say about me?
