But in the London study, even after adjusting for age and other factors, the researchers discovered one factor that consistently resulted in longer telomeres for certain participants.

That’s 10 years according to telomere length. Their chronological ages may be the same, but they’re younger physically.

The youngest subjects were the most physically active — an average of 199 minutes per week, or about 30 minutes a day.
The oldest subjects were the least physically active — only about 16 minutes per week. I think the medical term is “couch potatoes.”
Even biological twins with different physical activity levels showed these differences in the aging process.
The researchers concluded that U.S. guidelines recommending 30 minutes a day of moderately intensive physical activity at least 5 days a week can slow the aging process and have profound health benefits.
